Are we living our purpose?

A student asked to speak to me after class. In conference, she told me that she did not know why she was put on earth. She did not know why she was even living.  This is a heavy topic for a 12 -year- old to bear. At that age, they are still growing and developing. So, she may not know her purpose because she is still growing and finding her way. I gave her encouraging words and advised her to ask God to show her the way. At that moment, I realized that even adults do not know their true calling in life.

I am reminded of the children of Israel  wondering in the wilderness for 40 years. There are people 60 years old not living in their purpose and afraid to make a change. There some people still making the same mistakes at 40 that they made at 20. There are some people that think that relationships are just for them to be pleased. There are some people who are lost, like my student. How long will it take for YOU to find your way. 40 years? 90 years?

I did not know why God selected this school for me to work, but at that moment, I realized that there are children who need to know their worth. Who need guidance and support.

My purpose for this time in life is to help some child find his or her place in the world. To show I care. To believe in them. To support them and push them forward. To love them.

This is only one part of my purpose. I am glad that I found it so soon.

What is your purpose? How are you living your life, your best life?
